38th Annual Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival

September 24, 2014

The 38th Annual Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival is calling the “Boggy” at heart home to Niceville to its annual celebration of local culture and cuisine. Regarded by some as the largest family reunion in the Panhandle, this year’s Mullet Festival will be held the weekend of Oct. 17-19. The enduring formula of top notch entertainment, great seafood, and superior arts & crafts offers all-around family fun.

Headlining the entertainment on Saturday night will be four-time CMA Female Vocalist of the year, Martina McBride. She has recently been nominated for a fifth CMA Female Vocalist award and will be performing on her autumn “Everlasting” tour. Red-hot country new-comer Dustin Lynch will open the Festival on Friday evening, and Mullet Festival favorite, Neal McCoy will anchor the entertainment on Sunday afternoon. Additional musical entertainment will be provided by Blackjack Billy, Mustang Sally, Red Roots, and local stars, Hunter Phelps and Crystal Yates.

Of course there will be plenty of fried and smoked mullet from the Boggy Boys, as well as an imposing variety of other seafood and coastal cuisine. Between mouthfuls Festival patrons may peruse a variety of arts and crafts displays, and kids will find plenty of fun at the midway, the clown shows and appearances by costumed characters.

The Mullet Festival site is located at the intersection of Hwy 85 N and College Road just north of town. Ticket prices (including concerts) for ages 12 and over are $10.00 per day, except for Friday and Saturday after 5 PM when the price is $15. Advance tickets at the rate of $9 each or 3 for $25 are available online or from numerous local ticket outlets.  Kids age 11 and under are free. Several acres of free parking will be provided.
